Paul, Sami and I participated in the Bandit Run in Simi Valley. He ran the 30K and Sami and I hiked the 14K. I guess you have to walk before you can run. It was awesome!! It took Sami and I three and a half hours to finish. Sami was so excited to get so much attention for being the youngest participant and receiving a medal. My feet are sore from the hike, other than that I feel great. I find it hard to believe that 6 months ago I was in a coma and on life support fighting for my life from injuries suffered in the Metrolink train accident. I am so amazed on how my recovery is going, but I know I have a long way to go. I thank God everyday for my life. I recently returned to work on a limited basis. Everything that I do is a step forward to recovery. Participating in the Bandit Run gave me a great sense of accomplishment. We have received many cards, meals from friends in the 805 Boot Camp Program and appreciate everything that helped us through a difficult time.Thank you all so much for your prayers, cards and support. The event was well organized and we had a lot of fun. Looking forward to the next Bandit Run.

...You put on a very nice race--the organization was really something, especially considering this was the inaugural--and it'd be great to see you guys again next year. Maybe we'll be trained for the 30K.
Take care and thanks again!
Erik

Hello Bandit 30/14K Race Directors,
What an unforgettable, well-organized and arduous course! Thank you so very much for the long hours that went into the planning and execution in making this inaugural run such a unique experience.
From the professional-looking website & in-person registration to the impressive "spoils" after the circuit such as a penetrating massage by nurturing masseuses, convenient recovery drinks, gels, Jamba Juice, Trader Joe's protein snacks, other good energy food, generously filled goodie bags, I salute all involved in bringing this amazing experience to us runners. I especially commend the 805 BootCamp volunteers for their commitment and boundless encouragement. I was in awe of such group cohesiveness and genuine happiness for every participant's effort/fitness improvement.
Your combined efforts have set the bar very high, indeed, this first time around. My next fitness level awaits to be started soon because I anticipate triple the competition the following year.
In Gratitude,
Sandi K. I just wanted to say thank you for putting on such a great event. Everything was wonderful. The course was soooo hard ( at least for me) I LOVED every minute of it J I spent the previous two weekends celebrating my 40th B-Day, needless to say I was not really training for the event but just had to try it. I have done Bulldog, Boney Mountain etc… and this really topped them all. In the end I was the last one in for the 30k but still came in smiling. I was thankful that Krista ( the sweeper) was right behind me and the crew at the end waited for me with a medal ( they even cheered me on ).

Next year I’ll be sure to prepare a bit more. ( I am sure I will still be close to the end with or without training) but just love being out there.
See you on the trails!
